As part of a small team I pitched the game Racing the Mould to Grow Kent and Medway. This game needed to spread awareness about how produce was transported to a younger audience, and encourage them to think about the logistics involved.

My role within the project was focused on its overall design. I outlined the gameplay loops and mechanics taking into account the audience and devices it was to be developed for.  I was also in charge of the aesthetic direction, designing icons and user interfaces in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, which were then implemented in Unity.

While it isn't my focus as a Games Designer, I do have experience with character design through independently taken work. My process is full of iteration, going from the least to most specific details of a character until I am confident it meets its requirements. The designs shown above were created in Photoshop.

Catch of the Day

Catch of the Day was a card game project developed as part of a small team as an exercise to further develop our skills before going on to pitch a game professionally later on. My role was mostly focused on the visual design of the game and promotional materials, created in Photoshop and Procreate.

Castle Explorer is an independently developed game created with GameMaker. you play as the explorer, and must clear each level of enemies before moving onto the next one by using your mouse to point and swing your sword at them. The game also has a locally-stored high score leader board. I handled the entirety of the games design and programming, while audio assets are from OpenGameArt.org. You can download and play this game here.

Craze

Craze is an independently developed game created with Python and PyGame,  a barebones API for developing games with Python. This project was created as I found there was no viable way to play the arcade game "Berzerk" at the time. The requirements of this project I decided on were that it must include all of the features of the original game, and it must be able to be ran on older hardware. You must navigate endless randomly generated rooms while evading robots, and the unstoppable "Crazy Craig" who will follow you from room to room.  â€‹

I hope to find a way to have it playable on this website at some point, in the meantime you can download it here.
